A Short History of Nearly Everything Poor Credit

A Short History of Nearly Everything Poor Credit

I picked this one up expecting "good". Instead, I got one of the most delightful reading experiences in science that I have ever had. What a wonderful surprise.

Bryson tries to do what most school textbooks never manage to do, explain the context of science in a way that is relevant to the average person. At the beginning of the book, he recalls an event from his childhood when he looked at a school text and saw a cross-section of our planet. He was transfixed by it, but noticed that the book just dryly presented the facts ("This is the core." "This part is molten rock." "This is the crust.", etc.), but never really explained HOW science came to know this particular set of facts. That, he quite correctly points out, is the most interesting part. And that is story he sets out to tell in this book.
Bryson obviously spent a great deal of time and effort developing and checking his facts and presentation. He obviously enjoyed every minute of it too, and it shows. Never have I read a book where the author conveyed such joyful awe of what we have learned as a species (with the possible exception of some of Richard Feynman's books).

My benchmark for this kind of book is usually; How well does it explain modern physics? There are few books out there that manage to explain relativity, quantum mechanics and string theory in a way that doesn't make your eyes glaze over. The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Zukav is the best of the lot in my opinion. While this book did not change my opinion, Bryson's explanations of these mind-bending theories are not only lucid and sensible, they are also full of his telltale tongue-in-cheek side comments and therefore are just plain fun to read.

The ABC's of Getting Out of Debt: Turn Bad Debt into Good Debt and Bad Credit into Good Credit

The ABC's of Getting Out of Debt:Trade Your Bad Debt for Good Debt and Your Bad Credit for Good Credit really stands out among the many credit and debt related books available to consumers for many reasons. For starters, the book covers the topic of credit and debt in a very thorough and objective manner. Such critical, but often overlooked, topics as the health effects of debt are addressed. In addition, the book provides very simple and practical steps to help consumers that are struggling with credit and/or debt problems.

While the book is geared toward consumers that have credit or debt problems, all consumers can benefit greatly from the legal expertise of the author and from the expertise of Gerri Detweiler, who contributed to the book. For this reason, I strongly recommend that every consumer reads this book.

Poor Credit

Poor Credit

In Measuring and Managing Credit Risk, the authors provided a robust, complete and comprehensive treatment of several aspects of modern credit risk measurement and management. Written by two high talented practitioners, this book will become certainly a reference both for academics and practitioners thanks to its careful treatment of several not so known empirical issues which practitioners have to face everyday. At the same time, do not consider the book as a new recipes book for managing credit risk. Both authors already proved their deep knowledges of financial theory and establish once again, through this book, how advanced knowledges of theory combined with significant practical experience make leading researches. As a PhD candidate in Finance, actually writing on credit risk, I definitively adopted this book and higly recommend it for anyone dealing with credit risk issues either through a practical experience or through a theoritical work.

Poor Credit Invisible in America Paperback

Poor Credit Invisible in America Paperback

Poor Credit Invisible in America Paperback

Poor Credit Invisible in America Paperback

The Working Poor examines the "forgotten America" where "millions live in the shadow of prosperity, in the twilight between poverty and well-being." These are citizens for whom the American Dream is out of reach despite their willingness to work hard. Struggling to simply survive, they live so close to the edge of poverty that a minor obstacle, such as a car breakdown or a temporary illness, can lead to a downward financial spiral that can prove impossible to reverse. David Shipler interviewed many such working people for this book and his profiles offer an intimate look at what it is like to be trapped in a cycle of dead-end jobs without benefits or opportunities for advancement. He shows how some negotiate a broken welfare system that is designed to help yet often does not, while others proudly refuse any sort of government assistance, even to their detriment. Still others have no idea that help is available at all.
"As a culture, the United States is not quite sure about the causes of poverty, and is therefore uncertain about the solutions," he writes. Though he details many ways in which current assistance programs could be more effective and rational, he does not believe that government alone, nor any other single variable, can solve the problem. Instead, a combination of things are required, beginning with the political will needed to create a relief system "that recognizes both the society's obligation through government and business, and the individual's obligation through labor and family." He does propose some specific steps in the right direction such as altering the current wage structure, creating more vocational programs (in both the public and private sectors), developing a fairer way to distribute school funding, and implementing basic national health care.
Prepare to have any preconceived notions about those living in poverty in America challenged by this affecting book. --Shawn Carkonen --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

If you need a fast and effective way to rebuild credit and obtain a new credit card but don't know where to look, then this book is for you. I was very impressed with the amount of information that is truly relevant in this book. I appreciate reading Joseph McClain's story on how he came upon this knowledge. It adds a decree of authenticity to the book, knowing that the author himself has been there and knows the pain of not having good credit.

I commend McClain for his honesty and willingness to share with people his knowledge on how to rebuild your credit. And more importantly, knowing where to go for the help you need. I really like how he lays out a roadmap for you to follow to ensure the success without hitting a brick wall. Anyone who has been down this road knows the headache and frustration of trying to get a credit card with bad credit because you just don't know where to turn.

While this is a short book and a quick read, it does its job by giving you what you need to know in a no BS manner. Along with that there is links to provide support for those who need it. This is a firecracker of a book for anyone needing to know how to get back on the fast track to having good credit. By rebuilding your credit score through getting new credit cards and paying them off in the manner that Joseph recommends guarantees that you too can have the success that you are looking for. Thanks Joseph for a great little book that carries a ton of weight!

Get A Small Business Loan--even With Poor Credit, Weak Collateral, And No Experience (SBA Loan Book

Just as life has clearly defined cycles, so does a small business enterprise and the SBA book by Charles H.Green depicts it clearly. Whether it's the start-up or expansion cycle, his book will show you how to plan for the loan, how to go through the document review, and how to enjoy the award of a loan. It walks you through the long and frightening process of getting a loan with sound advice and forms that inform and educate.
What if turned down? It shows the applicant why it happened and how to repair any damages to their business' ego. It very smartly says, "it's not personal it's business."
As antrepreneur dealing with capital formation on a regular basis, I recommend this book to all who know the trials and tribulations of "getting the money." You will find an answer to your situation, guaranteed.
